Jerusalem 1day from Sharm El Sheikh

Jerusalem is one of the oldest cities in the world. It is considered holy to the three major Abrahamic religions, Judaism, Christianity and Islam. Israelis and Palestinians both claim Jerusalem as their capital, as Israel maintains its primary governmental institutions there and the State of Palestine ultimately foresees it as its seat of power; however, neither claim is widely recognized internationally.

You will be picked up from your hotel in Sharm el Sheikh between 7:30 – 8:30pm. We will drive to Taba, which take around 2 ½ hours. We will have a stop along the way for a break. You will need to cross the border by foot to meet your guide and your bus for the start of your tour. It can take time to cross the border as it is quite small and can become crowded.

The City of Gold, as it has come to be known in Hebrew, is a fascinatingly unique place where the first century rubs shoulders with the twenty-first century, each jostling for legitimacy and space, and where picturesque “old” neighborhoods nestle against glistening office towers and high-rise apartments. It is one of those places which has to be seen to be believed.

The Old City of Jerusalem is that part of Jerusalem surrounded by the impressive 16th century Ottoman city walls and representing the heart of the city both historically and spiritually. In a city already divided, the Old City is further divided culturally and historically into four Quarters: (clockwise from the south-east) the Jewish Quarter, the Armenian Quarter, the Christian Quarter and the Muslim Quarter.

The core of Jerusalem, Old City, has a history that stretches back more than 3,000 years. The present street plan dates largely from Byzantine times, with the walls and ramparts dating back to the 16th century. The crossroad of three continents, Jerusalem has been one of the most fought over cities in human history. Within the walls, the Old City is divided into four vaguely defined quarters: Christian, Armenian, Jewish and Muslim.

You do not need to be Jewish, Christian, or Muslim, or even be overly concerned with religion, to be overwhelmed. Anyone with a sense of history, spirituality or the human species should be absorbed by the tremendous weight of human civilization that cloaks nearly every part of the city. It is an inhabited, living city – not a deserted museum or monument. Humanity’s passion play has been constant revival at this location for most of the length of recorded history.

As small as the Old City is, it has four distinct districts with different cultures and attitudes.

• The Christian Quarter is what you arrive in from Jaffa Gate.
• The Armenian Quarter is also Christian, but distinct as well.
• The Jewish Quarter is the heart of Jewish life in the Old City.
• The Muslim Quarter is the largest and hosts the Dome of the Rock and other famous landmarks. Despite its name, there are several Jewish families residing within it.

Notes: As we visit some of the Holiest places for the various religions, respectful and modest clothes are required. This means that you have to cover both your knees and your shoulders, including the men.

Personal passports are required during the entire trip.

Bring swimming gear if you want to take a bath in the Dead Sea.
Bathing in the Dead Sea (November through February) is subject to the weather conditions as the sea will be quite cold then.

During winter time (November till April) warm clothing is necessary.

Program:

• Pick up from your hotel in Sharm el-Sheikh, and then drive to Taba border.
• Upon your arrival to Taba border, you will cross the border walking to the other side “Time you spend to cross the border is subject to Clients number crossing the border in this day in both sides.”
• Upon your arrival to the other side of the, and after you pass the passport control, you will be met & assist, then Transfer to Dead Sea area.
• Around one hour, you will spend at the Dead Sea area to enjoy floating on the most salty in the world.
• After the Dead Sea, you will drive to the holy land of Jerusalem.
• On the way to Jerusalem, you will visit the Olive mount, with a view of Bedouin tribes along the way, to the Olive Mount.
• Next to the Olive mount, you will head to the Wailing Wall, then Continue to the Via Dolorosa, which leads you to The Church of the Holy Sepulcher.
• After Jerusalem tour, you will drive to Bethlehem, to have your Lunch
• After lunch, you will visit the central Pilgrimage destination for the Christians “The Church of Nativity”.
• By the end of the day, you will drive Back to the Border, to cross it again to the Egyptian border.
• Meet & assist in Taba border, then drive to your hotel in Sharm el-Sheikh.

Petra by boat 1day from Sharm El Sheikh

Enjoy a trip to Petra to see one of the great signs of the ancient Nabatean Civilization, the Roman Theater, the Rainbow Tombs, and the Canyon!

You will be picked up from your hotel in Sharm el Sheikh and travel to Taba Heights Marina. Along the way, we will stop in Dahab, Nuweba, and Taba to collect other people. Once you get to the marina, you will meat your guide and be assisted onto the boat. Once you get to Jordan, you will drive with your guide to Petra in an air conditioned van to begin the tour.

Sharm El Sheikh to Petra trip will start on foot where we will walk through the Canyon or the Siq. This trail is a narrow winding gorge that is over 1 km  long. These sandstone formations that you will see were once occupied by the Edomites. One of the many reasons that Petra was such a great site for the Nabateans is that it was hidden behind a defensive canyon which is known as the Siq.

Visit Al Khazneh or The Great Treasury of the Pharaoh
As you come to the end of this great canyon, a very narrow opening offers a peephole to one of the most grand sites in Petra – the treasury. Carved out of the side of the sandstone mountain face in the first century BC, scholars debate as to its actual function.

The Roman theater & the Royal tombs
After the visit to the treasury we will visit the Roman theater which dates back to Byzantine era & the Royal tombs. Not much is known about the ancient culture of the Nabateans, except that they were great engineers with amazing skill and craft. They built water conservation and irrigation systems and carved their homes, temples, and tombs right out of the rocks.

Lunch

Visit the Al Habis Fort
Afterward, we continue our tour to the hill of Al-Habis fort which dates back to crusaders times. This fort has a breathtaking view of gullies and beautiful rock formations.

Back to Sharm-el-Sheikh
We will travel back to Aqaba where you will have free time for shopping if you chose. Then we will make our way back to the marina for the boat back to Taba. Once across the border and back in Egypt we will make our way back to Sharm and you will be driven back to your hotel.

• Pick up from your sharm el shekh hotel and transfer you to Sharm el-Sheikh’s airport.
• Then take your Flight from Sharm el shiekh airport to Luxor airport in under an hour.
• Meet and assist you in Luxor airport, by your professional English speaking tour guide.
• You will start you Day Trip with our Guide to visiting the Colossi of Memnon. You will then visit the Valley of Kings and explore 3 tombs.
• Then you will get to experience Hatsheput temple.
• Take Your Lunch in a local Buffet. The Nile view is spectacular.
• A quick break after lunch and then off to visit the temple of Karnak.
• Near the end of your day trip you will take a sailing boat to the Banana island to add more fun to your day.

Moses Mountain & Saint Catherine Monastery from Sharm El Sheikh.

Follow the steps of Moses and enjoy a trip to Gebel Mousa and St.Catherine Monastery from your hotel or your cruise ship’s exit door in Sharm El Sheikh. Take on a spiritual journey to the place of the burning bush!

Take this evening trip from Sharm El Sheikh to Moses Mountain where you will meet with our Bedouin group leader who  will show you the way to climb up the mountain to reach the same place where Prophet Moses received the Ten Commandments from God.

The view from the summit is truly breathtaking and well worth the effort of ascending in the early morning. After watching the sun rise, we will climb down to rest and have breakfast in the city of St.Cathrine. We will then visit the monastery where our guide will introduce you to one of the oldest monastery in the world. You will then have some free time to walk around and take photos,then drive back to Sharm El Sheikh

• There are two ways to get to the top of the mountain, Camel Road and Monks Trail.
• Camel is 7 km long and it is easier and most often climbed by tourists.
• Monks Trail – consists of 3750 steps carved into the mountain, This trail is more complex and dangerous.
• Air at the foot of the mountain is weak. This can cause asthma issues so be cautious.
• The village and the monastery of St. Catherine is at a height of 1700 meters above sea level and the top of the mountain is 2285 meters above sea.
• On the mountain is always cold. During the winter months there is lots of snow and frost.
• Climbing takes about 3-4 hours.
• The most difficult part of the climb is the last 752 steps leading to the panoramic platform and to the chapel.
• Along the way you can stay in small cafes and drink Bedouin tea.
• From the mountain you will go down at about 7 – 8 am. The monastery opens at 9:30 and you can wait in a cafe in the village.

• Road to  Moses takes about 2.5 hours.
• Climb to top of Moses Mountain with an experienced guide.
• View the Sunrise.
• Visit the Monastery of St. Catherine (no service).

Saint Catherine Monastery & Dahab from Sharm El Sheikh

Saint Catherine Sinai is one of the Christian Monasteries that is the oldest in the world. It was build during the 5^th century by the Emperor Justinian I near the place that Moses saw the burning bush. This is both a holy place for both Christians, Jews, and Muslims and explains why this Greek Orthodox monastery has survived in the Islamic Country.

When touring the monastery, you will see a large collection of religious artifacts that are sure to be stunning. They are not all displayed, but the small museum has many of them on display that simply stunning. You will also be able to view a paper that has been signed by Mohammed that grants the monastery human rights such as freedom to worship, move about, and property. If you are to tour one church on your journey, let it be this one.

The Saint Catherine Sinai monastery’s actually function is not to be a tourist attraction but to hold service. There is a period that tourists can visit but you will need to be out by noon. Only Orthodox Christians are allowed to attend the service beginning at 12:00 and going is nothing short of spectacular.

This trip starts at around 6:40am where we will collect you from your hotel and drive about 3 hours. We will make one stop along the way at a great valley with amazing sand dunes.

We will then travel to Catherine Village, arriving there at about 9:45 am and visit the monastery of St. Catherine which lies at the foot of Mount Moses in the heart of South Sinai. This is one of the most famous monuments of South Sinai with many attractions such as the Church of Transfiguration, The Skull House, Moses’s Well, and my all time favorite, The Burning Bush.

The tour will include a historical explanation of each site  from our licensed guide.

After visiting the monastery you will get free time where you can visit the museum of the monastery which contains the oldest icons and manuscripts of the early stages of Christianity. It is the world’s second largest collection of illuminated manuscripts after the Vatican.

The museum entrance fee(not included) is a few dollars. You can feel free to take photo’s during this time.

We will then drive back to Dahab City where we get our lunch in a local restaurant. After lunch you will have the chance to go shopping in Dahab or explore the city.

We will arrive back in Sharm el Sheikh at around 5:30-6:00 pm and you will be taken back to your hotel.

• We will pick you up from your hotel in Sharm el-Sheikh at around 7:15 am.
• Drive to from Sharm el-Sheikh to Saint Catherine Sinai takes around 2.5 hours.
• Tour inside Saint Catherine Sinai Monastery, exploring the artifacts and the burning bush.
• After your tour inside the Monastery we will drive to Dahab City.
• Have lunch in Dahab.
• After Lunch free time for shopping.
• By the end of your day trip, drive back to Sharm el-Sheikh.
